Yin Yoga addresses the connective tissue through the relaxation of the muscular system, generating an intense and deep physical experience while directing the mind to a state of observation. The practice consists of long sustained postures, in which the weight of the body, gravity, and breath, work all together to tap into the fascia and ligaments, undoing unnecessary muscular tension and freeing the joints. The class will develop balancing yin and yang, weaving engagement and attentive presence, and will end with a sitting meditation practice.
Marisa Grande met yoga through the teaching of Dona Holleman and is a certified Centered Yoga teacher. She developed further to encompass Yin Yoga, which she found to be an inspiring and rich practice that allows her to merge the knowledge of Centered yoga with the somatic approach of Body-Mind Centering, along with her spiritual practice. www.marisagrande.com Sign-up: firstname.lastname@example.org
